How the Flame Design Came Into Being
A bespoke hand-cut glass mosaic pool floor featuring a bold flame motif in black, orange, and gold — a custom commission crafted by MEC Artworks.
This custom glass mosaic pool floor project gave a free hand to the creative genius of our design team. Our client wanted ‘something different’ for their pool decor. Other than that, we were allowed to go about it as we chose best in the design pattern.
Geometric shapes, sea life, and abstract patterns are the usual choices for clients when it comes to pool floor decor. Each of them carries a grace of its own.
Since our client wanted something unique, the design team started playing about with abstract patterns and eventually came up with the idea of a ‘flame motif’.
Our Aim: To Meet Our Client’s Expectations
Once the ‘flame motif’ idea had evolved, the colours and style started getting into place. Oranges and Reds were the obvious hues and flecks of gold were added in between to elevate the glamour of the artistry.
We are pleased to say that our client was delighted with the results when presented with the digital renders for approval.
They absolutely loved this idea for an away-from-the-ordinary blue theme pool floor mosaics.
Black was added to the mix in the background to make the colour scheme even more prominent.
The Design Phase
Something Unique
This is what we had in mind when starting the crafting of this mosaic. The design team went over and discarded standard ideas like sea life and geometric depictions. Beautiful as they are, they did not fit into our client’s demand.
How the Final Design Pattern Came About
The idea of a flame was brought up by the design team, which became the foundation for the rest of the custom glass mosaic pool floor design.
Colours and Material
After the selection of main colours like shades of Orange and Red, Gold was added for grandeur and elegance. The whole abstraction was put in a background of Black so that the rest of the colours could be enhanced further.
The Crafting of the Flame
Armed with the design pattern and shades, our design team started working its magic.
The mosaic was crafted in hand-cut glass, which is currently the trending material for outdoor and indoor mosaics. Hand-cut glass is a popular option for its tensile strength, overall brilliance and its ability to absorb colours so well.
Our expert artisans did not follow the digital design renders to the dot, as the client was trusting MEC to put together their bespoke glass mosaic pool floor.
Golds were added for a touch of glamour and many shades of Orange and Red like Maroon, Rust and Lava and Burnt Orange, were made part of the mosaic to give a seamless flow to the shades of the flame.
Once complete, the whole confection was packed in sections on mesh sheets for easy transport and installation.
